STATION MARBLEHEAD PATROLS INDEPENDENCE DAY
 | SANDUSKY BAY, Ohio -- Seaman Apprentice Jonathan Stilp of Station Marblehead observed the fireworks display while on patrol in the waters of Lake Erie around Sandusky Bay aboard the 33-foot Special Purpose Craft-Law Enforcement July 4. The crew was on the lookout for safety violations and boating under the influence. Whether due to high gas prices or otherwise, there was an 11 percent decrease in Search and Rescue cases from October 2007 to June 30, 2008 for the entire Ninth District, according to Jerome Popiel, assistant chief, incident management branch.
